Porcelain Enamel Institute is frequently giving ratings to ceramic and porcelain tiles. There are six class ratings (0 – 5), which indicate how hard and impervious a tile is. In associated with this, most ceramic receive a PEI rating of 0 to 3, while most porcelain receive a rating of 4 or 5.
